As part of my Fashion Marketing study abroad course, I researched and compared Burberry, Yves Saint Laurent, and Miu Miu, examining each brand’s target market, positioning, marketing strategies, competitors, and visual identity. We then surveyed locals and tourists throughout Florence to see which brand they preferred and why. Our findings largely supported our initial research: younger respondents gravitated toward Miu Miu and YSL for their trendy and contemporary positioning, while Burberry resonated more with older consumers and those drawn to its timeless, classic identity. For my portfolio, I am highlighting the research and consumer-insight portion of the larger project to showcase my experience analyzing fashion brands and connecting market research with real-world consumer preferences.
For this project, I developed a detailed fabric specification for a green product line. I chose MMI Textiles’ EcoThrive® Cypress, a double-knit performance fabric made with 20% recycled polyester. I researched its fiber content, construction, sustainability, sourcing, and performance standards, including dimensional stability and burst strength testing.

For this project, I worked with a team to evaluate Honduras as a potential sourcing location for Benetton’s junior tops and dresses. We analyzed the country’s workforce, apparel manufacturing capabilities, trade benefits, logistics, cultural considerations, and sourcing risks to develop a final sourcing recommendation.
